How an order moves, quarry to UK

Every order moves through the same fixed sequence, from first enquiry to a delivered container at your yard or nearest UK port.

The sequence

    Enquiry

    Specification or schedule of quantities received and reviewed against current yard availability.

  2. 02

    Sample

    Physical sample cut from current stock and dispatched, or hand-selected on request.

  3. 03

    Quote

    Priced against stone, finish and quantity.

  4. 04

    Purchase order

    Order confirmed in writing before production is scheduled.

  5. 05

    Production

    Cutting, honing and polishing to the confirmed specification at our yard.

  6. 06

    Pre-crating inspection

    Visual and dimensional checks before crating — see quality and testing.

  7. 07

    Crating and marking

    Crates built and marked with contents against the packing list.

  8. 08

    Loading and documents

    Container stuffing and commercial and shipping documents finalised.

  9. 09

    Sailing and delivery

    Ocean transit to the nominated UK port, customs clearance, and onward delivery.

Documentation issued with every shipment

  • Commercial invoice

    Stone, finish, size and quantity, matched line-for-line to the packing list.

  • Packing list

    Crate-by-crate breakdown of contents, cross-referenced to crate marking.

  • Bill of lading

    Issued once the container is loaded and the vessel has sailed.

  • Certificate of origin

    Confirming Indian origin for customs purposes.

  • Phytosanitary declaration

    For treated wooden crates, required for UK entry.

Planning a programme

Minimum order and lead time

Our practical minimum order is One 20ft container (approx. 400–450 m², mixed sizes and finishes by agreement). We load from the Port of Chennai. Lead time from confirmed order to delivered container is typically 8–10 weeks: 3–4 weeks for cutting and finishing, 3–5 days inland haulage to Chennai, 28–32 days ocean freight to the UK, and 3–5 working days UK clearance to delivery, depending on stone, finish and quantity.
