Stairs and treads
Honed treads and risers cut to size, with riven or sawn nosing options for internal and covered external stairs.

Specification
Treads and risers are cut to size at the polishing yard rather than trimmed on site, which keeps a run of stairs consistent in width and nosing detail.
A honed face is standard for internal stairs; a riven or sawn nosing strip can be set into the tread edge where extra grip is wanted. For covered external stairs we recommend the riven nosing option, which tests well above the wet pendulum threshold recommended for stair nosings.
Slip, wear and load-bearing data for treads is tested to EN 16165 Annex C and BS EN 12372, and is set out per stone on the specification tables.
